If you phone number is "blocked" or "barred", you are no longer eligible to use the Surfpin services and you will not be able to make your SMS or Home Phone payment.
Here's how you can tell that your number was blocked / barred:
Mobile (SMS) Payments: If you attempt to make a Mobile (SMS) Payment from a blocked phone number, you will often receive our free message with instructions to reply Y. But when you reply Y, nothing will happen. Sometimes you won't even receive the free message. This is because the block on your phone number prevents us from sending you any billing messages and taking payment.
Home Phone Payments: Similarly, if you attempt to make a Home Phone Payment from a blocked phone number, after dialling in you will only hear a deaf or engaged sound or your call will disconnect by itself. Again, this is due to a block on your phone which prevents us from charging you.
So how is it possible that your phone number is blocked? for a couple of reasons: If you didn't pay for what you bought (for example by not paying your phone bill or demanding a refund). If the person who pays the phone bill requests to be blocked / barred by contacting Surfpin or the phone operator.
Can you un-block it? Certainly yes and we would be delighted to see you back! If you are the bill payer please contact your network provider and they will be able to unblock you right away. If someone else pays your phone bill (for example your parents), please ask them to contact the phone operator to request unblocking.
